Another EXHILARATING day in the month of March

WOW!!! Many people thought that March Madness could not get any more crazy but it just did. From the Volunteers upsetting the Buckeyes or Baylor working St. Mary's it was all incredible. The University of Tennessee has never made it to the Elite Eight until today. The Vols had some behind the scene problems that was predicted to hurt their team but that might be just the opposite of what it did to the team. On the first day of 2010, four Tennessee basketball players were arrested for possession of drugs and weapons, Tyler Smith, Cameron Tatum, Brian Williams, and Melvin Goins were eventually kicked off the team. Tyler Smith came back to Tennessee for his senior year instead of entering into the NBA Draft, but then his dreams of being in the NBA were crushed when he made that horrible decision. It seems like that ordeal has made this team better and closer than ever. Tennessee was not the only great game on Friday, Baylor took St. Mary's to town with a halftime score of 17-46 in favor of the Bears. They let up a little bit, but still beat the Gaels 72-49. Baylor will have to get past Duke in the South Region Finals to make it to the Final Four.

Scores:

Northern Iowa: 52
Michigan State: 59

Tennessee: 76
Ohio State: 73

Duke: 70
Purdue: 57

Baylor: 72
St. Mary's: 49
