The VERY SWEET Sixteen in Salt Lake City

Late Thursday night the quiet city of Salt Lake was not so quiet anymore when March Madness came around. Two games were played, Syracuse vs Butler and Kansas St. vs Xavier. Both of these games were big thrillers!!! Syracuse, the #1 seed in the West Region, lost to #5 seeded Butler in an intense matchup. With Arinze Onuaku unable to play for the Orangemen, this game went down to the wire. Syracuse was down by 10 at the break and took their first lead at 40-39 and started to increase that lead until the Bulldogs went on a 11-0 run to help them win the game 63-59. This will be the first time that the Butler Bulldogs have made it to the Elite Eight in School History. After that thriller, there was another amazing matchup between #2 Kansas St. and #6 Xavier. The Wildcats were up by as much as 15 at the start of the game, but the sharp shooting Musketeers caught up and the game was tied. Kansas St. was up by three with 4.0 seconds left in overtime until Jordan Crawford hits an unbelievable three to send it into double overtime but Kansas St. took charge after that and won 101-96. The Elite Eight game in Salt Lake City will be the Kansas St. Wildcats vs the Butler Bulldogs on Saturday.
